The Savoy provided a comfortable and tidy room that met my work needs well. The breakfast was commendable, with freshly prepared options, and the parking arrangement was convenient for accessing local business sites. The staff were attentive and assisted efficiently when setting up my presentation equipment.
The room showed signs of age with some maintenance issues.

Over priced and underwhelming
In general: This placed looks far better on the internet than it is in reality. It relies on its name and not on the Trip Advisor reviews, which I only wish we had looked at before booking. It is well overpriced and one of the most expensive places in Blackpool, which coupled with its name should have been a nice treat, but was far from it. The whole place is dated, damaged and unclean. It is in much need of a good refurb and the WiFi does not work in the bedrooms. Location and surroundings: The location is superb and easy to get to. From the outside the hotel looks nice. It has limited parking but is next to a nice big carpark so this is not a problem. It is right on the seafront, a nice walking distance from attractions and pubs, town etc, and is also easy access to the trams that run along outside of it. Service: The service on reception was welcoming and accommodating. Also the service at breakfast was good. Bar service at night was combined with reception duties which could make for slower service but ok. Dining: We only ate breakfast and there was a good choice of food and beverages available. The cutlery and especially the cups were unclean though and still had rims around the inside of them from their previous use. Sports and leisure: Not used. Room: Where do I start. The main door to our room was damaged all round the frame as though it had been kicked in several times. The bathroom door had holes kicked in it that had been filled in along with numerous other holes where many different locks had been fitted and broken off. The bedding itself I have to say was clean, however the throw across the bottom of the bed was utterly filthy with two or three large mucky marks on it. Both lampshades were either ripped or covered in blobs of paint. The toilet roll holder was broken. The whole hot water tap moved when you tried to turn it on/off. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold, there was no regulation to this, and no water pressure to the shower as the pipe had come apart and was just pushed together. We couldn't see out of our window as the whole thing was frosted glass, but also had a net curtain over it. Why?! The furniture was very old and dated and the bed hard. In summary the whole room was unclean and in high need of a good overhaul. Certainly a far call from what we were expecting for the price we paid. Very disappointing. The only good thing was the little telly in there. Useful tips: Read trip advisor before you book. Sadly it is all true! I would not recommend this hotel and it is certainly not worth the overpriced tariff.

In no way would I recomend anybody stay at the Savoy Blackpool, the name is a contradiction in terms, rooms Dirty Mould growth on windows and curtains, windows that would not open, what happens in case of fire? No soap, and the towels! Grey is obviously the in colour! Food terrible evening sunday dinner all frozen products and the yorkshire puddings not even aunt bessies but smart price, would make good soles for shoes. Breakfast passable, that was when you managed to find a clean dish or plate, the diswasher obviously needs looking at as yesterdays meal was still on the plate. Room brouchure states breakfast from 8-10am but they stopped serving at 9.30 am so late arrivals went without breakfast. DO NOT STAY AT THE SAVOY BLACKPOOLL

The breakfast was lovely.
On going up to our room we found it was already occupied by another couple and we had been given a key card which would not have opened the yale lock ! Our second offering had just been vacated by the last guests and had not been cleaned. Our third trip down the stairs resulted in our own clean room with a door card that worked, well at least for the first day. Having said that we did enjoy our stay and did not have any other problems.
